Summer book challenges aren’t just for kids in D.C. Adults are competing, too.

Tammy Gordon, 52, didn’t even know there were prizes. The self-proclaimed “book nerd” has been doing her own reading challenges for years, so when she clicked on the Instagram page of D.C.’s public library system and saw they have a summer challenge — for adults — she signed up.
